What currency is best to take to Egypt?

Foreign currencies accepted in Egypt:

1 – American dollars. 2 – Euros. 3 – Pounds sterling .

Important note: In ATMs in Egypt, you can only withdraw Egyptian pounds.

General advice:
1. It is recommended to have enough CASH (there are places where credit cards are not accepted, and most ATMs charge high fees for withdrawing large amounts of money).

2 – You can pay in one of the currencies listed above, or you can exchange money into Egyptian pounds and use them

3. If you exchanged some money into Egyptian pounds before flying home and have Egyptian pounds left, it will be difficult to exchange them into your own currency, so it is highly recommended to exchange money in Egypt, not in your own country, and only the necessary, small amount that you will spend.

4. You can exchange money at a bank, exchange office, or ATM.

6 – Archaeological places such as the pyramids, museums and temples do not accept cash payments, only cards are accepted.

8. How much to tip is up to you. Depending on the effort and good service, you can tip from 1 dollar or 1 euro.
